PDACNM NEWSLETTER MARCH 31, 2017- PDA APRIL MEETING- LEGISLATIVE RECAP

RESULTS OF BERNALILLO COUNTY AND SANDOVAL COUNTY DEMOCRATIC
WARD AND PRECINCT MEETINGS— GREAT TURNOUT WITH PROGRESSIVES TAKING MAJORITY OF POSITIONS

We asked for “all hands on deck” and you came through, filling a record number of county central positions in both Sandoval County and Bernalillo County this past Saturday, with a clear majority of Democrats elected belonging to the “Progressive” part of the party.

We say that in quotes because almost all of us in the party believe in the same core platform values. What separates us is minor, and needs to be the subject of discussion. We need to put the last election behind us, fix the things that need fixing, and move on. There is definitely some discussion at the national party headquarters level about differences in funding, leadership, etc., including staff changes. But at the county and state level, we think we are ready to move ahead, all of us work together, and defeat Republicans next year in local,state-wide, and federal races.

Those leaders elected will meet at the Sandoval County meeting April 1st, and Bernalillo leaders will meet April 8th. Please check your county websites for locations and time. At these meetings County Chairs and Co-Chairs will be elected, as well as State Central Committee members. These are very important elections, so make sure you are there, or download a proxy form from the county or state websites and give it to another Democrat from your ward to carry to county and vote on your behalf.

Congratulations to all our new Ward Chairs, Precinct Chairs, and County Central members, many of whom are also PDA and YPDA members.
